Mark (Trac) Dionne .... RIP

I received bad news, one of my best friends Mark Dionne passed
away and I would like to share a story about my old friend. I write this
because I hope he can somehow read it.

Mark was my "sounding board", anything that was bugging me
I could pass it by Mark, and his wisdom, and devotion to friendship
would always encourage me to get past the issues, and move on.

Mark loved me, we were best of friends, he enjoyed my
photography immensely and has printed and framed photographs all
over his house. Mark bought so many prints off me, and gave them away
to friends and family.

I have never known a more generous and heart warming man.

My brother Geoff and Mark were both fireman, the best
guys on earth, ready and willing to risk their lives to save
others. Mark was a Namvet, and the scars will be with him
forever in time. He served his country, proudly.

I cannot tell you all how much I miss my friend already.

Go slow brother, stay strong, respectfully.,

rayz

A trip west to the Pinery

Sunday morning, 3 am, and the wind and rain were hitting us hard here in Grimsby, Ontario... but out the door I went!! Driving over the Skyway bridge from Hamilton to Burlington was unreal!!

And naturally, what am I doing? Meeting 3 guests to head west to the Pinery Provincial Park for some photography!! The drive was wet, the truck is clean, so we are sitting in the coffee shop in Grand Bend... and the rain stops!

Lots of fun, many challenges, the light went from bad to so-so, to good, to brutal!! Some images from the day are posted here, please click on them for full size, and thanks for stopping by!

I posted 2 images of the Pilieated feeding thier young, wondering which one looks best, the image taken during overcast, or sunlight?

Some recent Workshops

A birds in Flight program last Sunday, a 1on1 Wednesday, and a Loons trek Friday, so lots of editing!! Thanks to all my guests for this week, it was awesome.

Sunday was cool, Joanne came here all the way from NYC, NY for the birds in flight!, at that workshop, we had 9 people, all of them were repeat guests!! This was the first time for 100% repeats, so very cool!!

Nancy and I went out to Campbellville and Guelph for some shooting of song birds, too much fun in the rain!! And the loons trek was cool, with a new customer, Jim Pearce, and also Jamie, Harry, and my friend Nick from Whitby. Some boat issues made it interesting, but we got it done!

So, enjoy these images, click on them for the full size, and please email me if your interested in joining a future workshop... ray@raymondbarlow.com

have a good weekend!
