WHAT: Making Waves Fundraising Event for A Wing and A Prayer (bird rehabilitation centre) and Muskoka Wildlife Centre
WHEN and WHERE: Sunday, August 21st, 2011
1 - 3 pm at the Muskoka Boat and Heritage Centre - 275 Steamship Bay Road, Gravenhurst
3:30 - 5:30 pm aboard the Wenonah II steamship - 185 Cherokee Lane, Gravenhurst (a short walk from the Heritage Centre)
COST: $100.00 per person (charitable tax reciepts are available)
DETAILS:
-Features a presentation by Rob Stewart - star and creator of "SHARKWATER", an award winning docu-film that came out a few years ago in theatres around the world. This is his website if you would like to know more about him: www.sharkwater.com
Rob will be talking about his incredible adventures during the making of SHARKWATER and his mission to help people better understand sharks. Some of our staff and animals worked with Rob recently on a new up and coming film project that he will be sharing some secrets about as well.
-The event will begin at the Muskoka Boat and Heritage Centre and will then move to the Wenonah II steamship, where we will embark on a 2 hour scenic cruise.
-There will be an auction, featuring some incredible donated items.
-Muskoka Wildlife Centre Staff will be bringing a host of amazing wild creatures on the cruise for people to see, meet and learn about up close including a lynx, birds of prey, a baby fox, opossum, porcupine, beaver, various reptiles... just to name a few.
-There will be lots of delicious gourmet finger foods and deserts prepared by Signatures in Bracebridge.
-There will be a 50/50 draw and door prizes as well.
Tickets are on sale now and there is a limited capacity. They can be purchased through the Muskoka Widllife Centre by calling (705) 689 0222.
